The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a traffic crash which occurred May 13, 2007 at 7:30am in the 2600 block of N. Federal Highway.

Preliminary information revealed that Neri Franzon, 51, a Fort Lauderdale resident, was operating a 2005 Mercedes Benz in the 2600 block of N. Federal Highway. For reasons unknown, the vehicle veered off the roadway and stuck a pole. Franzon sustained serious injuries and was transported to Broward General Medical Center. The passenger was identified as Cristiane Raffo, 41, a Fort Lauderdale resident. She sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Broward General Medical Center.

A DUI investigation was conducted and the results are pending.
